The Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan Papon feels that if the clubs don’t want to change their current stance, it’s difficult for them to reschedule the fixtures of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.
The whole of Bangladesh have been struggling with scorching weather for the last few days but amid such temperature, the players, officials and umpires had to take part in the league matches of the DPL 2022-23.
“This heat is completely unexpected. We have never seen this before. It will definitely be on our minds (about changing schedule),” Nazmul told reporters during a press conference in Mirpur on Monday.
“I will keep this in mind when planning matches in the future. But I don’t think there is much that can be done about it. The schedule we have, the time we have is very difficult.
“We will be able to play, it is a matter of whether the clubs agree or not. Nobody wants to play except national team cricketers. It is very difficult to set aside the commitments we have.
“Eventually we have to accept that the Premier League will have to be played without the national team players. They have to be, if we don't get out of that kind of thinking then the schedule can't be moved,” he concluded.
