Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has bashed the government for its decision of hiking the price of fertilizer.
The party asked the government to withdraw its decision immediately to save the country’s farmers and the agricultural sector.
The BNP leader came up with the statement while speaking at an Eid gift distribution programme in the capital on Wednesday.
The Eid gift was distributed among the family members of the party men those were allegedly killed and forced disappeared.
The party will distribute Eid gifts among the 1,000 families of its leaders and activists those were killed and forced disappeared during anti-government movements across the country.
Mirza Fakhrul alleged that the current Awami League government is carrying out killing, enforced disappearances and repression to prolong its power.
Meanwhile, in a written statement, the BNP secretary general protested against the government decision of hiking the fertilizer price by Tk 5 per kg.
