Sisimpur steps into 19th year

Sisimpur, the popular children’s programme, will step into the 19th year on Saturday. The programme has been aired since 2005 with a view to making early childhood education delightful and enjoyable for Bangladeshi children.

Sisimpur is the co-production of the popular US-based children TV show Sesame Street produced by Sesame Workshop. Every year, April 15 is celebrated as ‘Sisimpur Day’ as Sisimpur was first broadcasted on television on this day.

The programme helps children to identify letters, match words with letters, and create sentences with words. Children can learn different elements of the environment such as colours and shapes through various characters of Sisimpur like Halum, Tuktuki, Ikri and Shiku. The show introduced a new friend named Julia, who is a four-year-old muppet with autism.

Currently, the 15th season of Sisimpur is being telecasted on BTV, Duronto TV and Maasranga Television.
