Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundhara Kings will take on Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra in the first quarterfinal match when the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup 2022-23 will roll on today at the Shaheed Bir Sreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj after more than a month break.

The match begins at 03:15pm.

The top-tier competition went on a FIFA Window break after the last match of the group stage (Group C) between Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra and Dhaka Abahani on February 28.

Kings emerged champions in Group B with full nine points after beating Fortis Football Club by 2-0 goals, Muktijoddha by 4-3 goals and Chattogram Abahoni by 2-0 goals while Muktijoddha ended third in the same group with three points after beating Fortis by 2-1 goals but lost to Ctg Abahoni by 0-1 and Kings.

However, the Kings resumed their camp with 18 players on March 15 while their 12 national players joined after their international assignments on March 29.

“We have all our players in the camp, no injuries. All players are fit, fresh and ready to start the domestic schedule,” the club’s head of strategy and planning Bayazid Alam Zubair Nipu told The Daily Sun after going to the venue on Monday.

In the other quarterfinals, Group C champions Dhaka Abahani will play against Group A third-placed Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club on April 11 at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj while Group A champions Mohammedan Sporting Club will meet Group B runners-up Ctg Abahoni on April 18 at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla.

Group A runners-up Rahamatganj Muslim Friends Society will lock horns against Group C runners-up Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra on May 2 at the Shaheed Bir Sreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
