The opening match of the inaugural Bangladesh Women’s Cricket League 2022-23 between Team Padma and Team Jamuna ended in a draw at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Friday.

However, before the draw, Team Jamuna opener Murshida Khatun struck a brilliant unbeaten hundred (100 off 160 balls) while Sobhana Mostary made 50 not out as they declared their second innings at 212-3 to give Team Padma a target of 216 runs on the final day.

Team Padma then made 47-3 in their second innings before the match ended in a draw.

Earlier, Team Jamuna earned a narrow three-run lead in the first innings after Team Jamuna were bowled out for 152 runs in their first innings after they resumed their overnight score of 112-7.

Shanjida Akther Maghla finished with 6-35 for Team Jamuna.

Team Jamuna earlier made 155 runs in the first innings after Sobhana Mostary made the highest 49 off 135 balls on the opening day of the two-day contest.
