Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) on Thursday approved four separate procurement proposals in connection with the road transport, shipping, housing, and public works sectors.
The approvals came at a meeting of the CCGP held virtually, with Finance Minister AM Mustafa Kamal in the chair.
The meeting also approved a proposal for awarding the contract for package number WP-01 to the National Development Engineers Ltd involving Tk 2.90 billion under the project for upgrading the Aricha (Boroangail)-Gheor-Daulatpur-Nagarpur-Tangail regional highway.
CCGP awarded the "Remaining Work for Construction of RAB-3 Complex at Khilgaon, Dhaka" package to Mazid Sons Construction Ltd at a cost of Tk 406.9 million under the project for constructing five RAB complexes and one RAB Forces Training School complex.
Besides, the meeting approved a variation proposal for the capital and maintenance dredging of Payra Port Rabnabad Channel.
Earlier, a meeting of Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by the finance minister, was held, which approved in principle three proposals, including two similar ones from the ICT Division.
CCEA approved a proposal for signing a 10-year contract with Intraco Refuelling Station Ltd for supplying the gas generated by Sundarban Gas Company Ltd (SGCL) in Bhola to various industries in Dhaka.
Mahbub said that the meeting approved in principle the draft of the PPP agreement with private investment firm Summit Communications Ltd for setting up high-speed internet connections and maintaining related internet infrastructures, upgradation, replacement, operations, and revenue sharing at some 1,293 unions under the project for "National ICT Infrastructure Development (Info Sarkar 3rd phase), 3rd revised.
CCEA also approved in principle another proposal linked to an agreement with another private investment firm, Fibre At Home Ltd, for setting up high-speed internet connections and maintaining related internet infrastructures, upgradation, replacement, operation and revenue sharing at some 1,307 unions under the same project.
