NARAIL: A total of 4,400 small and marginal farmers in Sadar upazila of the district were given seeds and fertilisers free of cost as agro incentive for the cultivation of high-yielding (Ufsi) Aush paddy in the current Kharif-1 season.
To increase the interest of farmers in Aush paddy cultivation, the amount of incentive support and the number of farmers have been increased significantly in the current financial year 2022-23 in the district, Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) said.
The distribution function was held in the Sadar upazila agriculture office premise this morning.
Under the programme, each farmer was given five kilograms of high-yielding (Ufsi) Aush paddy seed, 10-kg of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilisers and 10-kg of Muriate of potash (MOP) fertilisers free of cost for cultivating one bigha of land.
