‘Asean Mini Bazaar’ makes spring merrier in Dhaka

The Asean Dhaka Committee (ADC) and Asean Ladies Association (ALA) have organised a programme titled “Asean Mini Bazaar” to uplift and highlight the spirit of spring in Dhaka.

The event held on the Indonesian Embassy premises in the capital from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Sunday.

The event wished to further promote Asean’s culture and gastronomy to the public and diplomatic communities in Bangladesh capital, said a press release.

President of the Foreign Officers Spouse Association (FOSA) of MOFA Bangladesh Fahmina Zabeen inaugurated the event as the chief guest.

Head of Missions (HoM) of Asean countries accredited to Dhaka, including the current chairman of the HoM ASEAN Dhaka Committee (ADC), his Excellency Leo Tito L Ausan Jr, ambassador of Philippine to Bangladesh also attended the programme.

Several Asean embassies participated in the bazaar, among others Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam, displayed their various signature goods, such as handicrafts, traditional clothes and fabrics, scarfs, and beauty products.

The programme also offered delicious traditional cuisine from each country with very affordable prices, including the famous Indonesian coffee.

Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh and Nepal, Heru Hartanto Subolo and Mdm Sinta Ekawati Subolo welcomed around 300 visitors as the host.
