‘Punnaho’ to be staged at BSA today

Theatre troupe Natyakendra will stage its much-acclaimed production ‘Punnaho’ at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) this evening.  

Written by Badruzzaman Alamgir, the play has been directed by Yusuf Hassan Arko.

The story of the play is about a village named Kakorgachi and its people. The village was destroyed one day by a massive storm and the villagers seem that there is a sinner in the village,   that’s why the storm strikes in the village. Finally, they began to search for the sinner. As a result, every person in the village stood against each other immediately after the storm. Thus the story of the play continues.. 

‘Punnaho’ is the 15th production of Natyakendra.

Theatre troupe Natyakendra was launched in 1990.  Founded by Tariq Anam Khan, Natyakendra has till date brought out a number of acclaimed productions such as ‘Tughlak,’ ‘Sukh,’ ‘Jera,’ ‘Protisoron,’ ‘Projapoti,’ ‘Dalim Kumar,’ ‘Mrito Manusher Chhaya’ and ‘Dui Je Chhilo Ek Chakor.’

Natyakendra houses talented actors like Jhuna Chowdhury, Touqir Ahmed, Zahid Hasan, Mosharaf Karim and some others who are also very popular in the small screen.
