Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has directed his deputies to be more vigilant so that none can cause a breakdown in law and order ahead of the Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The IGP said this at a meeting with senior police officers at Police Headquarters in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
The chief of the police department directed the field level police officers to carry out regular monitoring to control price hike.
He also directed Industrial Police Unit to be cautious to avoid any untoward incident over salary arrears.
In the meeting Additional IGP (Crime and Operations) Atiqul Islam pointed out the law and order, bazaar monitoring, security of the industrial zones, traffic management and security plan ahead of the Ramadan.
