At least 50 female university students have received training on safety and empowerment for improving their ability to handle any situation when they will need to protect themselves.
The programme titled ‘Nirvoy: Women Safety and Empowerment Training’ organised by Khaled Musharrof Trust of Bangladesh and Indrani Balan Foundation of India was held at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) in the capital on Tuesday.
Upon completion of the training, certificates were distributed among the participants.
Lawmaker Mir Mushtaque Ahmed Robi and German Ambassador to Bangladesh Achim Tröster handed over the certificates.
ULAB Vice Chancellor Professor Imran Rahman, Major General Tawhid Rahman, Special Branch SP of Bangladesh Police Mahfuza Liza, actress Azmeri Haque Badhon, national team cricketer Jahanara Alam and mountaineer Nishat Majumdar also addressed the function.
According to the organisers, another 50 female students will be trained at Dhaka International University (DIU) today.
