Bangladesh rested experienced campaigner Mahmudullah for the opening two ODIs against Ireland while they named uncapped Zakir Hasan in the 16-member squad for their upcoming three-match series.
Yasir Ali, Nasum Ahmed and Shoriful Islam also made a return to the ODI side while Taijul Islam, who was picked in the ODIs series against England as per the request of the skipper Tamim Iqbal, could not make a cut in the squad.
“We have to see different combinations as we are preparing our team for the next World Cup but his omission certainly does not imply that everything is over for him,” he added.
The first-ever multi-format bilateral series will start with the ODIs in Sylhet on March 18 and the remaining two ODIs will be held on March 20 and 23 respectively.
Chattogram will host the three-match T20I series while Dhaka will host the first-ever Test between Ireland and Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh also named an unchanged side for the last T20I against England, scheduled in Dhaka on Tuesday.
