BHOLA: The National Disaster Preparedness Day-2023 was observed in the district like elsewhere across the country amid different awareness programme on Friday.
The National Disaster Preparedness Day is observed at the initiative of the district administration with the theme ‘Smart Bangladesher Protaya, Durjog Prastuti Sabsomoy’.
After the rally, a discussion was held on the occasion of the day at the conference room of deputy commissioner office this morning.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Taufiq-e-Lahi Chowdhury presided over the function.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Ripon Kumar Saha, Additional Superintendent of Police Ripon Chandra, Bhola Press Club President M Habibur Rahman, District Red Crescent Society General Secretary Azizul Islam, District Fire Service and Civil Defense Deputy Assistant Director Md Abdur Razzak, Relief and Rehabilitation Officer SM Delwar Hossain, among others, spoke.
The speakers said, the current government is much more capable of dealing with disasters. If appropriate measures are taken at the right time during the disaster, the damage can be reduced a lot.
The speakers called upon everyone to be more aware of this matter.
