‘Govt can’t evade responsibility’

Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman GM Quader said the Awami League government can’t avoid responsibility for the casualties in the Fulbaria blast.

“Many people are losing their lives as a result of recurrent accidents. It’s a total failure to create a safe Bangladesh. The government has no success in putting an end to irregularity and mismanagement,” he said.

The JP chief came up with the statements while talking to reporters after visiting the scene of the accident on Wednesday.

GM Quader claimed that Bangladesh has turned into ‘abnormal state’. He alleged that people are exposed to risk due to the ‘absence of security’.

“Bangladesh is now an unsafe state. There is no security for people’s lives on roads, working places or even at home,” he said.

About the recent Sitakunda oxygen plant explosion, GM Quader alleged that the Sitakunda incident has been hushed up as the ruling party men were involved in it.

“We want a high-powered to be formed to investigate all blast incidents and the probe report to be disclosed. At the same time, people want to know as to whether action has been taken against those involved in the incidents,” he said.
