‘Don’t turn medical colleges into money making machine’

President Abdul Hamid on Wednesday called upon the doctors to work with the spirit of service, reports UNB.

He made this call at a function at President Abdul Hamid Medical College in Karimganj, Kishoreganj.

The President said that establishing a medical college should not only do business, it should serve people.

He said that instead of turning the medical college into a money making machine, it should be ensured that people get quick medical care at low cost and easily.

President Hamid hoped that everyone including the teaching staff will make relentless efforts to keep the reputation of this medical college intact.

President's wife Rashida Khanam, President of the Medical College Board of Directors and Prof Dr ANM Naushad Khan, Principal of the College spoke on the occasion.

Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid enjoyed a cultural programme at Mithamain, Kishoreganj, on freedom fighter Abdul Haque Government College grounds last night.His family members were present at that time. President reached his ancestral home on February 27 on a five-day tour.
