PIROJPUR: A total of 15,000 small and marginal farmers in all seven upazilas of the district will get incentive for the cultivation of Ufsi Aush paddy in the current season.
To increase the interest of farmers in Ufsi Aush cultivation, the amount of incentive support and the number of farmers have been increased significantly in the current financial year 2022-23 in the district, reports BSS.
According to Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Ministry of Agriculture has allocated Taka 85,87,500 for the Aush farmers of the district to cultivate of Aush paddy.
The target of Aush cultivation was fixed on 15,000 bighas of land under the programme, the DAE said.
Under the programme, each farmer will receive five kilograms of Ufsi Aush paddy seed, 10-kg of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizers and 10-kg of Muriate of potash (MOP) free of cost for cultivating one bigha of land.
Deputy Director of the district DAE Dr Md Nazrul Islam Sikder said distribution work of the incentive among the farmers will begins very soon.
