Rituparna, Yash, Nussrat to share screen in ‘Shikarr’

Popular Tollywood actors Rituparna Sengupta, Yash Dasgupta and Nussrat Jahan are set to work together for the first time in an upcoming social thriller titled ‘Shikarr’ which is set against the backdrop of rural Bengal, reports Times of India.  

The actors are currently busy with different projects in Mumbai and are excited to be back in their home ground for the exciting project, which will be directed by Kolkata and Mumbai-based director Debraj Sinha.

The film is set in a place called Shantipur where local messiah Dev (Yash) is a flamboyant character who rides around town helping young and old. The people of Shantipur worship him like a hero and women are crazy about him. Agni (Rituparna) is a single mother who gets posted as a government official in the town and soon gets embroiled in a controversy that makes her come face to face with Dev. What happens next forms the crux of the story.

“I am very happy and excited to feature in Shikarr with Yash. I am confident in Debraj's making as a director...restthe audience will get to see on the screen,” said Rituparna.

Nussrat Jahan will also be seen in a significant role in the film. She will be essaying the character of the spunky Jinia, adding a sense of relief to the serious thriller plot. “For me, Shikarr is a new project with an interesting storyline and most importantly a great commercial script. Commercial cinema and the love from the audience have made me what I'm today,” shared Nussrat.

“I'm happy to be working with Ritu di for the first time and found the storyline very unique. I'm still in the process of reading the script etc. We plan to go on the shooting floor soon and seek blessings from our audience,” said Yash.

The makers have revealed that a pivotal fourth character will also be introduced but have kept the details under wraps. The music and background score of the film will be helmed by Aditi Bose. Shikarr will also see a lot of action sequences and fight master Rajesh Kannan will be arriving from Chennai to supervise all the heavy-duty action.
