Chattogram: The district administration has organised a flower festival at the park developed by the City Outer Ring Road, adjacent to Dhaka-Chattogram highway and Faujdarhat-Port Link Road, to help the young generation be more interested in flowers and plants.
The fest, deemed to be the biggest in the country, began on Thursday and will continue until February 18, organisers said.
Besides, there are arrangements for cultural activities and kite festival during the fest.
Chattogram Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abul Bashar MdFakhruzzaman at a press briefing at the venue on Wednesday said, “We’re strongly determined to expand tourism in Chattogram, the district which is surrounded by both hills and the sea.”
“We want to present an aesthetic and attractive tourism spot before people. For that we’ve chosen this land with Bay of Bengal on the one side and Marine Drive on the other side,” he said.
The DC also hoped that the ongoing fest will help enhance the talent and cultural thoughts of people of the district.
The administration is committed to building Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s beautiful and humanitarian Bangladesh, he added.
