Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal is all set to miss the remaining two matches of Khulna Tigers in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League 2023 due to his groin and back strain.
It is understood that the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s medical team is looking after him at the moment.
“He (Tamim) is having slight discomfort (with his groin) and that is the reason he is not playing their (Khulna Tigers) last games as part of precaution,” Minhajul told The Daily Sun on Tuesday.
“We are expecting him to be available during the series against England as we are hopeful that he will be fine before the series,” he added.
England will arrive in Dhaka on February 24 to play three ODIs and as many T20Is. Tamim is expected to lead the ODIs side but he will not be available in the shortest format as he has already retired from this format.
