The publication ceremony of a book titled ‘Maharajadhiraj, a novella by Hridaya Rezwan, was held at a restaurant in the capital recently. Eminent educationist and writer Professor Dr Syed Manzoorul Islam graced the occasion as the chief discussant. He unveiled the cover of the novella. The book review segment included speeches from Professor Dr Sayeedur Rahman, IML, University of Dhaka, Poet and writer Nasreen Naim and writer Joydip Dey.
Speaking at the programme, the author of the book said, “I’ve written the book with an intention to express my delights in critical thinking and convey this to the readers. Even a bit of success in this attempt will give me an immense pleasure as a fiction writer.”
The reviewers identify the satirical tone of the writer used to ridicule some common, unnecessary or detrimental and falsely established social norms or customs and wrong thinking in our surroundings.
The writer, Hridaya Rezwan, is an Associate Professor of English Department at Comilla University. It may be noted that the book is available at Stall No: 177 at the ongoing Amar Ekushey Boi Mela (Book Fair) in the capital.
