National Library Day observed at IU

KUSHTIA: The National Library Day-2023 was observed at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Sunday. Marking the day, the teachers, officials, students and staff of the university brought out a procession from in front of the university’s administration building around 11am.

The procession ended in front of the Khademul Haramain Badsha Fahad Bin Abdul Aziz Central Library on the campus after parading the main streets of the campus. Later, a discussion meeting was held there.

IU Vice-Chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam addressed the meeting as chief guest. Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor M Mahbubur Rahman and treasurer Professor M Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan attended as the special guest, chaired by central library in-charge SM Abdul Latif. IU acting registrar HM Ali Hasan participated as an honorable guest while over 50 officials and staff of the library attended the programme.

While addressing the meeting, the speakers said the library plays an important role to make the people enlightened. To make a civilized society every person should make a good relationship with the library.
