CHATTOGRAM: Students of Chittagong University’s (CU) Institute of Fine Arts have started demonstration at the main campus, demanding shifting of the institute.
The students took position in front of the Shahid Minar on Sunday morning.
“We didn’t receive any assurance from the authority regarding our demand,” he said.
The agitated students also announced to continue their movement. The authorities of the institute asked the students to leave the dormitory and campus by Thursday night, in the wake of the three month-long demonstration, demanding shifting of the campus.
The students boycotted their classes and started a sit-in programme on November 2 last year to press their demands.
However, on January 21, the students sat for a meeting with Education Minister Dipu Moni, Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury, CU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shireen Akter and others concerned and decided to continue classes.
But, the agitating students started demonstration again on February 1 and remained rigid on their demands.
