Bangladesh batter Shorna Akter on Monday was named in the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup Team of the Tournament.

Shorna is the lone Bangladeshi cricketer to get into the list after she accumulated 153 runs in five matches with a strike rate of 157.73.

Shorna’s big-hitting ability also ensured her a place in the senior T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in South Africa next month.

Apart from Shorna, three players each from India and England and one each from New Zealand, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Australia were picked by the ICC in their team of the tournament.

India beat England by seven wickets at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom, South Africa to win the inaugural edition of the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup on Sunday.
