Table toppers Sylhet Strikers will be eyeing to book their place in the eliminators of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League, the country’s lone franchise-based T20 tournament, as they will take on Khulna Tigers in the day’s second game at the Sylhet International Stadium in Sylhet today at 06:30pm (BST).

Strikers, who are leading the points table with 14 points from nine games, are close to reaching the last four but three losses on a trot can make things complicated for them.

In the opening game, Rangpur Riders will play against bottom place Dhaka Dominators at the same venue at 01:30pm and a win for Riders will certainly help them set their eyes on the last four. Riders are currently placed at number four position with eight points from seven games and would certainly like to end their campaign on a high in Sylhet.

Riders’ all-rounder Shoaib Malik said that beating the table topper Strikers in their last game helped them gain a much needed boost and they are looking to carry the momentum.

“Of Course, a win is something which gives confidence and I guess the credit goes to the bowlers… the way they bowled and I guess they would like to take wickets continuously,” Shoaib said.

“I guess my observation is very simple just keep working hard and they have all the talent and I’m sure that they will start giving consistent performances. I’ve seen in fact glimpses in their games and I expect that they will do well for the team and they have been doing really well for the team,” he added.
