TANGAIL: Eight people have been arrested in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail district for cutting soil illegally.
Department of Environ-ment on Sunday conducted a raid in Panchgaon area in the afternoon and arrested Jalal Miah, Biplob Sarkerm, Nahid Sikder, Faruque Mollah, Khairul Islam, Alamin, Maju Sheikh and Mamun Miah for cutting soil illegally.
Mirzapur Police Station OC Sheikh Abu Saleh Masud Karim a case has been filed against the eight people and they were sent to jail following a court order.
