RAJSHAHI: A six-day regimental camping of Mohasthan Regiment of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) began on the playground of Postal Academy here on Saturday, reports BSS.
Main thrust of the training is to enhance the moral and mental strength of the cadets along with equipping them with discipline and leadership characteristics.
Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions are taking part in the camping.
Besides, one army officer, four territorial force officers, 21 professors under officers and six teachers under officers are joining.
Regiment Commander Lt Col Sazid Imran inaugurated the camping programme as the chief guest.
Battalion Adjutant Major Jubayer Ahmed and Battalion Commander Major Mohsin Ali were present at the opening ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Lt Col Sazid Imran urged the cadets to involve themselves in nation building activities in a disciplined manner by making good use of the knowledge they gained during the training.
They should work relentlessly with the motto of building the youths as competent future leaders to carry forward the nation's hopes and aspirations to the coveted goal, he continued.
"You've a vital role to play to prevent the youngsters from various social crimes like drug-addiction and eve- teasing," he said, adding that the society could be built as healthy and sound through their noble efforts.
He called for devoting themselves towards building a prosperous Bangladesh.
The chief guest also inspected the parade and took salute of the march-past by the contingents besides a team of flag carriers and band party.
The cadets are being imparted training on physical, drill, leadership, military discipline, liberation war history, war tactics and armory side by side with various social development activities to help them get prepared to face any calamity.
Apart from the military training, they are participating in various social development activities.
