Pitha Galore This Winter

A 10-day 'Jatiyo Pitha Utshab' (National Rice Cake Festival) is well underway on the BSA premises in the capital.

Jatiyo Pitha Utshab Udjapan Parishad and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) have arranged the 16th edition of the festival.

A total of 50 stalls are showcasing more than 200 pithas (traditional cakes) at the festival.

Everyday, the festival is open to all from 3:00pm to 9:00pm till January 28.

Apart from the 'pitha' exhibition, cultural programmes featuring music, dance, recitation and narratives will be held everyday at the venue.

The most common and popular Pithas that take places in the place in the festival are Chitoi Pitha, Patishapta, Pakan, Bhapa Pitha, Andosha, Kulshi Pitha, Pata Pitha, Jhuri Pitha, Muthi Pitha, Roser Pitha and many more.
