Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) will export gold soon after fulfilling the demand on local market, said former BAJUS President Dilip Kumar Roy.
“Under the leadership of BAJUS President and Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir, the organisation has undergone a rapid transformation in the last one year. He planned to organise goldsmiths throughout the country. The handmade jewellery of the goldsmiths will be exported to fetch more foreign currency,” he said at a views-exchange meeting in Manikganj on Monday.
“It will keep the country's economic wheels moving and contribute to development. The gold bar will have ‘Made in Bangladesh’ seal. We’ll regain our lost heritage (of gold industry) soon,” he said.
The business leader laid stress on collecting more members for BAJUS to improve the dignity of gold traders across the country.
BAJUS Assistant Secretary Bidhan Malakar, Executive Member Reponul Hasan, Pabitra Chandra Ghosh, Manikganj Diabetes Association General Secretary Sultanul Azam Khan Apel, and district Sports Association’s General Secretary Sudev Saha were present on the occasion.
