At least seven people were killed and eight others injured in several road accidents in four districts, including Dhaka, on Friday.

In Dhaka, two passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed and two others injured as their carrying vehicle crashed into a truck in the capital's Jatrabari area on Friday.

The deceased were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Momin Mia, 37, of Narayanganj and passenger Palash, 50, a fish trader of Munshiganj.

The injured are fish traders Shah Ali, 36, and Sumon, 40.

The accident took place around 4am while the auto-rickshaw crashed into the truck on its way to Jatrabari wholesale fish market as the truck driver suddenly stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road in front of Dania College, leaving four occupants of the auto-rickshaw critically injured, said Sub-Inspector (SI) of Jatrabari Police Station Salman Rahman

The injured were whisked off to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where doctors pronounced Momin and Palash dead, he added

However, police failed to seize the truck, the SI said.

In Lalmonirhat, a mother and her daughter were crushed to death on rail tracks in Lalmonirhat's Patgram Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Sumi Akter, 28, wife of Rasheduzzaman, and their daughter Tasmira Tabasum Tasin, 5, of Rahmanpur Dhabsuti area of Patgram upazila.

Her two-year-old son was also seriously injured in the accident that took place at Ghunti area of the upazila at 11:30.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hatibandha Police Station Omar Farooq said, a Burimari-bound local train from Lalmonirhat rammed them while they were walking on the railway line, which left the mother and the daughter dead on the spot.

Later the fire service members of Patgram upazila recovered the bodies and brought it to the police station.

Sumi's son is now undergoing treatment at Patgram Upazila Health Complex, he added.

In Natore, two people, including a woman, were killed and four others injured in two road crashes in Natore's Sadar upazila on Friday, police said The deceased were identified as Parul Begum, 30, and Hanif, 40, reports UNB..

One accident occurred as a tanker hit a rickshaw van in the Chawk Tabaria area around 11am, said, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jhalmalia Highway Police Station ALM Masud.               Parul and other injured were whisked off to Sadar hospital where she was declared dead upon arrival. The injured are now undergoing treatment at the hospital, the OC added.

In another accident, a speeding microbus ran Hanif over when he was crossing the road in front of Harishpur Police Lines, which left him dead on the spot, the OC said.

The bodies were sent to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsies, he added.

In Tangail, a motorcyclist was killed and another injured as a truck crushed their motorcycle in Kalihati upazila of the district on Friday, reports BSS.

The deceased was identified as Tanveer Hossain, 25, hailed from Mirzapur upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Bangabandhu Setu East Thana Shafiqul Islam said, the accident took place at Salla bus stand on Tangail-Bangabandhu Setu Highway.

Tanveer died on the spot while injured Mithun, 16, who is Tanveer's nephew, was admitted to Tangail General Hospital, he said.
