Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun directed his deputies to improve service quality at all the police stations.

He gave the directive to the subordinates while speaking at the IGP’s Exemplary Good Services Badge conferring ceremony at Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital on Thursday, the third day of Police Week-2023. The badge was conferred on some 458 police for their best contribution to different fields in 2022.

Al-Mamun said the service quality at the police stations will have to be improved so that people consider the stations as the service delivery centre.

The police members have increased the aspiration of people to the force through different successes, he said, adding that the police stations will have to keep up the aspiration by providing proper services.

The IGP urged the policemen to work to build a ‘Smart Bangladesh’ declared by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He said there will be no room for drugs and terrors in Bangabandhu’s ‘Sonar Bangla’. “People, women and service friendly police members are working to achieve the desired goal with the help of technology,” he said.

The police chief claimed the professional excellence of the force members are improving day by day.

The transparency in appointment, posting and promotion is being appreciated everywhere, he said.
