Though the country’s dengue situation has improved for over a couple of week but many dengue infection cases and death are still being reported in the country even at the end of monsoon.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said 62 dengue patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours until Tuesday morning while three deaths from the disease were reported during the time.

Of the 62 dengue patients, 35 were taken to 53 hospitals of Dhaka city while the rest 27 were admitted to hospitals outside the capital.

The DGHS data said a total of 395 dengue patients are now undergoing treatment throughout the country. Of them, 203 patients are receiving treatment in Dhaka city.

It said 4,831 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in 27 days of the current month December and 27 deaths from the deadly disease were reported during the time.

And 19,334 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals and at least 113 died in November.

The DGHS report further said a total of 62,189 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals and at least 281 dengue patients died in the current year till December 27.

Of the total dengue cases, 39,134 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in the Dhaka city and the rest of the patients were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka.

Of the total patients, 61,513 were released from hospitals after recovery. Of them 38,758 were from the hospitals of the capital.
