JP to interview nomination aspirants for by-polls today

Main opposition in parliament Jatiya Party (JP) will interview nomination aspirants for by-polls to five constituencies, which have been left vacant as BNP lawmakers resigned, at the party’s Banani office in the capital today.

The party in a statement said the interview for the by-polls scheduled to be held on February 1 will start at 11:00am.

Earlier, JP Chairman GM Quader met the party’s chief patron Raushon Ershad at hotel Westin in the capital on Sunday and discussed various issues, including the organisational activities.

They also discussed participation in the by-polls and celebration of the party’s 37th founding anniversary on January 1.

They agreed that leaders loyal to Raushon Ershad will get nomination for the by-polls and they will work together for the by-polls, party insiders said. During the meeting, GM Quader assured Raushon of running the party with her advice. He also requested cooperation from the chief patron.
