Main opposition in parliament Jatiya Party (JP) will interview nomination aspirants for by-polls to five constituencies, which have been left vacant as BNP lawmakers resigned, at the party’s Banani office in the capital today.
The party in a statement said the interview for the by-polls scheduled to be held on February 1 will start at 11:00am.
They also discussed participation in the by-polls and celebration of the party’s 37th founding anniversary on January 1.
They agreed that leaders loyal to Raushon Ershad will get nomination for the by-polls and they will work together for the by-polls, party insiders said. During the meeting, GM Quader assured Raushon of running the party with her advice. He also requested cooperation from the chief patron.
