Though the country’s dengue situation has improved for over a couple of week but many dengue infection cases and death are still being reported in the country even at the end of monsoon.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said 89 dengue patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours until Saturday morning while two deaths from the disease were reported during the time.
It said 4,614 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in 24 days of the current month and 22 deaths from the deadly disease were reported during the time.
And 19,334 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals and at least 113 died in November.
The DGHS report further said a total of 61,972 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals and at least 276 dengue patients died in the current year till December 24.
Of the total dengue cases, 39,029 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in the Dhaka city and the rest of the patients were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka.
Of the total patients, 61,195 were released from hospitals after recovery. Of them 38,561 were from the hospitals of the capital.
