Bangladesh injured pace bowler Shoriful Islam will be unable to take part in the first phase of Bangladesh Premier League, the country’s franchise-based T20 competition, scheduled to start from January 6.
Shoriful was ruled out from the ongoing Test series against India after he sustained a hamstring injury before the first Test.
Tamim Iqbal, who failed to feature in the home series against India, is expected to be available from the start of BPL for Khulna Tigers and he is also expected to start his practice after one week. The BCB medical team instructed Tamim to take a three-week rest due to a groin injury.
Meanwhile, Ebadot Hossain, who was unable to make him available for the second Test against India due to a back injury that he sustained in the opening Test at Chattogram, is expected to make him available for Fortune Barishal from the start as his injury is not that severe.
