145 patients hospitalised in 24 hours

The country reported 145 fresh dengue cases in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

However, no death from the disease was reported during the time. Of the new dengue cases, 66 were taken to 53 hospitals of Dhaka city while the rest 79 are admitted to hospitals outside the capital.

The DGHS data said a total of 374 dengue patients are now undergoing treatment throughout the country. Of them, 302 patients are receiving treatment in Dhaka city.

It said 4,050 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals this month and 17 deaths from the deadly disease were reported during the time while 19,334 patients were admitted to hospitals and at least 113 died in November. The DGHS report further said a total of 61,408 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals and at least 271 dengue patients died in the current year till December 18.
