Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Sunday said some persons are now making statements over human rights issues, but they were not found when grenade attacks were carried out on August 21, 2004 in the rally of Awami League, reports BSS.
“Where were the persons, who are now giving different statements over human rights issues, when grenade attacks were carried out in the rally of Awami League on August 21 in 2004 and innocent people were killed alive through patrol bombs and arson attacks during the strikes called by BNP in 2013, 2014 and 2015?” he questioned.
He said the human rights traders and statements givers are now become active. “But I’ve a question - where were the human rights traders and statement givers on August 21?” he added.
Hasan said the secretary general of the United Nations, the US president and many international organizations are praising the ongoing development in Bangladesh. Even, the World Bank gave a proposal of financing the Padma Bridge again, he added.
“But, our leader had said that we will construct the Padma Bridge with our own fund,” said Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.
He said the people from home and abroad who were against independence do not like the development. For this, they are now busy in plotting conspiracies, he added.
The minister urged all to remain alert against those evil forces.
