PRAN-RFL launches bicycle factory in Rangpur

The Group exports bicycles to different countries in the world, including Europe

PRAN-RFL launches bicycle factory in Rangpur
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi inaugurates a bicycle factory of PRAN-RFL Group at Gangachara in Rangpur on Thursday.

PRAN-RFL Group aims for economic emancipation of the country, working with farmers as well as people living in the rural areas, said Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi.

He made the remarks while inaugurating another bicycle factory of PRAN-RFL Group at Gangachara in Rangpur on Thursday, said a press release.

"PRAN products are now everywhere in India, especially in Assam. Bicycles are being exported to different countries including Europe,” he added.

Apart from manufacturing bicycles, the 70,000-square-feet factory will manufacture frames, forks, tyres, tubes and some other bicycle components. 

The factory has received an investment of approximately Tk 60 crore. It will employ around 1,000 people.

PRAN RFL Group has been manufacturing and marketing bicycles since 2014.  The first bicycle factory of the Group is located at Shayestaganj in Habiganj.

The factory currently has an annual production capacity of 8 lakh pieces of bicycle.

RFL-manufactured bicycles are currently being exported to 15 countries, including England, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Austria and Belgium.

Moreover, the bicycles manufactured by the RFL Group for the local market are very popular.

Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, Chairman and CEO of PRAN-RFL Group, said that RFL Group launched  its second bicycle factory in Gangachra, Rangpur in the context of growing demand in both local and export markets.

Opposition Chief Whip in Parliament Md Mashiur Rahman Ranga, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Tapan Kanti Ghosh, DIG of Rangpur Range of Bangladesh Police Mohammad Abdul Alim Mahmud, Senior Vice President of FBCCI Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu, Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Dr Chitralikha Naznen, Superintendent of Police Ferdous Ali Chowdhury and Managing Director of RFL Group RN Paul spoke the programme.
