‘Digital Bangladesh Day’ celebrated in China

The Bangladesh Embassy in Beijing has celebrated 'Digital Bangladesh Day - 2022'. 

On the occasion, a discussion meeting was held on Monday afternoon. Due to the increasing outbreak of Covid-19 in the city of Beijing, the embassy organised the event through the Zoom platform.

Ambassador of Bangladesh to China Md Jasim Uddin was the chief guest at the event, according to a message received here on Tuesday.

 The First Secretary of the Embassy Parul Dewan conducted the discussion while Embassy's Commercial Counselor Monsour Uddin presented the keynote speech on the success of digital Bangladesh.

Ambassador Md Jasim Uddin, in his speech, termed the concept of Digital Bangladesh as one of the pillars in Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visionary action plan to realise Bangabandhu's Sonar Bangla dream.

In the discussion meeting, a Doctoral Fellow from the Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics Mohammad Saiyedul Islam presented a presentation on how China has alleviated poverty using digital platforms and what lessons Bangladesh can be learned from it.

On the other hand, a Bangladeshi student studying in China, Tumpa Pramanik presented a presentation on how to promote and expand Bangladesh's tourism sector, especially in China, using digital platforms.

At the event, children participated in a lively digital quiz competition on Digital Bangladesh which was the main attraction of the event.

The award will be distributed on December 16, 2022, at the Embassy's Victory Day ceremony.

Expatriate Bangladeshis along with all the officials and employees of the embassy were present at the event.
