Agricultural loan fair held in Naogaon

NAOGAON: An agricultural loan fair was held at Atrai upazila in Naogaon district on Monday in order to help the agricultural sector to become self-reliant and to help the farmers to grow more crops.

Atrai upazila administration organised the fair at the upazila parishad hall room. In this fair, Sonali Bank, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, Agrani Bank, Janata Bank, Rupali Bank and Palli Sanchay Bank distributed loan cheques among farmers at 8 percent interest.

Atrai Upazila Parishad chairman Ebadur Rahman Pramanik, Atrai upazila nirbahi officer Iktekharul Islam, vice chairman Mumtaz Begum, UP chairman Nazim Uddin, agriculture officer KM Kawshar Hossain, project implementation officer Mehedi Hassan, Atrai Sonali Bank manager Shahadt Hossain, Agricultural Development Bank manager Shahin Alam, Agrani Bank manager Hayat Mahmud, Janata Bank manager Mafidul Islam, Rupali Bank manager Nasir Uddin, Palli Sanchay Bank manager Majedur Rahman were present, among others.

The UNO said, according to the intention of the honorable Prime Minister, the fair is being held in 11 upazilas of the district under the initiative of Naogaon deputy commissioner.

The government thinking about agriculture and farmers is giving agricultural loans through banks at only 8 percent interest.
