At least four people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in three districts in the last two days, reports BSS.

In Narsingdi, two truck drivers were killed and another was injured in a head-on collision between two trucks in Mahmudabad Namapara area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Raipura upazila of the district on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Abu Hashem, 21, son of Abdul Halim, resident of Palikanda village of Shibchar Police Station of Bogura district and Md Mofizul Patwari, 28, son of Muslim Uddin Patwari, resident of North Charmandal village of Charfashion Police Station of Bhola district.

The accident took place when a Dhaka-bound stone-laden truck collided head-on with another Sylhet-bound tiles-laden truck coming from opposite direction in Mahmudabad Namapara area  around 9.30am, leaving  two drivers of the  trucks dead on the spot and another injured, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of  Bhairab Highway Police Mozammel Haque said.

The injured was taken to Raipura Upazila Health Complex.

A case was filed in the connection, the OC added.

In Habiganj, a man was killed in a road accident in West Bhadai area on the Habiganj-Shaistaganj road under Sadar upazila of the district on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Aziz, 35, son of Tajul Islam, resident of West Bhadai village in Sadar upazila of the district.

Abdul Aziz was walking on the road next to his house when a speeding motorcycle hit him around 11pm, leaving him seriously injured, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Habiganj Sadar Police Station Golam Mortuza said.

Local people rescued him and took him to Habiganj 250-Bed Modern District Sadar Hospital where doctor pronounced him dead.

The body was kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.

In Chapainawabganj, a motorcyclist was killed and his co-rider injured as their motorcycle collided head on with a human hauler at Shyampur Hajipara intersection under Shibganj upazila in the district on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Bayejid, 29, son of Shihab Uddin of Bhabanipur under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila.

The injured person is Junayed, 19, son of Rabiul Islam of Natunhat area under the same upazila.

Police said the duo were going to Kansat from Binodpur by a motorcycle and as they reached Shyampur Hajipara intersection, their motorcycle collided head on with a human hauler locally knowan as bhutbhuti coming from the opposite direction around 4.45pm. Both the riders of the motorcycle were seriously injured.

 Bayejid died on the way to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex and Junayed was sent to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, the police added.

 The body was handed over to his family.
