The Bangladesh Premier League 2022-23 will begin with the match between the champions Bashundhara Kings and newcomers Azampur Football Club Uttara today at the Bashundhara Sports Complex in the capital.
The three-time BPL champions Kings made a positive start in the ongoing season with the Independence Cup title win after beating former champions Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd in the thrilling final last week.
“The team is prepared, the players are fully fit. There are no injuries in the squad except Biplu Ahmed,” he told The Daily Sun after a training session on Thursday.
In the day’s other matches, the reigning runners-up Dhaka Abahani Ltd will take on Fortis FC Ltd at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Stadium in Cumilla while Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd will face Rahamatgonj MFS at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj. All three games will start at 02:30pm (BST).
