India A are in a strong position to win the second unofficial Test against their Bangladeshi counterparts after they reduced the hosts to 49-2 in their second innings at stumps of the third day at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
Earlier, resuming an overnight score of 324-5, India A declared their first innings at 562-9 with skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran making the highest 157 runs while Jayant Yadav (83), Saurabh Kumar (55) and Navdeep Saini (50 not out) all scoring fifty each.
Bangladesh A, which started their second innings with a 310-run deficit, then lost Zakir Hasan (12) and Mahmudul Hasan Joy (10) to find them in a difficult situation.
Shadman Islam and Mominul Haque remained unbeaten on 22 and four runs respectively at stumps of the penultimate day of the match.
Earlier, Bangladesh A were bowled out for 252 runs in their first innings on the opening day of the four-day contest.
