Rohit expects more Bangladeshis in IPL

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma said on Saturday that he is expecting more Bangladeshi cricketers to feature in the upcoming Indian Premier League.

Six Bangladeshi cricketers - Shakib Al Hasan, Shoriful Islam, Nasum Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed, Afif Hossain and Liton Das - registered their names for the IPL auction, scheduled to be held on December 23.

Meanwhile, pacer Mustafizur Rahman has already been retained by Delhi Capitals for the next edition of the tournament.

“I really hope they get a chance because they are a quality team, with quality players. They can make a difference in an IPL team,” Rohit said when his attention was drawn to Bangladeshi players in the IPL auction.

“All the IPL teams have probably not started to plan yet, that’s my assumption. Closer to the auction, they will start planning and thinking about what they want to do. But I genuinely feel they should get a chance,” he added.
