A commemorative meeting on Prof Dr Zohra Begum Kazi, the first Muslim female doctor of the then undivided Bengal, will be held today, marking her 15th death anniversary.
The programme will be held at 10:30 am at Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib Auditorium of National Museum in the capital’s Shahbagh area.
Prof Dr Zohra Begum Kazi Parishad will organise the programme where Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury is expected to attend as the chief guest.
It may be mentioned Dr Zohra passed away on November 7 in 2007. Dr Zohra joined Dhaka Medical College Hospital in 1949. She was a professor and head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the medical college.
She was awarded Begum Rokeya Padak and Ekushey Padak (posthumously).
