Police are carrying out special drives across the country to keep the law and order situation under control in December.
On November 29, the operations wing of Police Headquarters (PHQ) issued a directive to the chiefs of crime and detective divisions across the country.
According to the directive, police will raid messes, hotels, community centres, and other places where criminals may have hidden.
Police have been asked to arrest militants, terrorists, drug traders, addicts, and fugitives in different criminal cases and to recover illegal firearms.
When contacted, Assistant Inspector General (Media and Public Relations Wing) of the police Manjur Rahman told the Daily Sun that December is an important month and so they are conducting the drives aiming to keep the law and order situation under control.
The directive to the police units has been given to avoid any untoward incident taking place ahead of "Such a drive is part of our regular activities," said the police officer.
