KHULNA: The colourful passing-out parade marking the introduction of B/2022 batch of new entry sailors of Bangladesh Navy was held at BNS Titumir parade ground at Khalishpur in the city after completion of their 22-week training courses on Wednesday morning.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal as the chief guest, inspected the march past and took salute of the 778 (Seven hundred seventy eight) new entry sailors at the ceremony. He congratulated the newly inducted sailors for choosing a profession related to national security and prosperity.

He also distributed awards among the best sailors on different subjects.

The chief guest awarded Md Ashiqul Islam as the best new sailor for his all round excellence and best performances and securing the top position in the course.

Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal asked all 778 successful sailors for conducting their professional duties with utmost sincerity, dedication and patriotism to serve the nation and its people through properly utilising their trainings.

The navy chief urged the sailors to be imbued with the sprit of the freedom fighters and go ahead with determination to defend the independence and sovereignty of the country at any cost.

Principal staff officers of Naval Headquarters, Regional Commanding of Khulna, local high civil and military officials of Khulna, local journalists and guardians of the new entry sailors witnessed the colourful parade and award distribution among the best sailors for their excellence in the training course.
