The Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan Papon announced on Sunday that they have decided to bring the national team’s batting coach Jamie Siddons into the development sector and insisted that they are looking for a new batting coach for the national team.
“We decided that we will bring Jamie Siddons in High Performance, ‘A’ team and Bangladesh Tigers (the development programmes for cricketers,” said Nazmul.
The idea to appoint Siddons as Bangladesh’s batting consultant was to use him in different development projects but later the BCB changed its mind and opted to include him in the national team after Ashwell Prince decided not to continue with the role.
It was learnt that the board high-ups were not impressed with him in the national set-up and felt that his knowledge can be better utilized in the development of batsmen at different camps.
The 58-year-old Australian is currently in Cox’s Bazar where he is guiding Bangladesh A team for two unofficial Tests against their Indian counterparts.
