Delhi school receives bomb threat in e-mail

NEW DELHI: A private school in Delhi's South district on Monday received an e-mail with a bomb threat prompting the police to rush a bomb disposal squad to the institution, reports agencies.

“An email has been received regarding a bomb at Indian Public School in South district. A bomb disposal squad has been sent there. It is being verified and checked,” news agency ANI quoted Delhi Police as saying. The e-mail was received on the official e-mail ID of the school.

Police evacuated students and staff from the school and carried out a thorough search but no bombs were found.

"Local police were informed which reacted promptly. Bomb disposal squad, dog squad along with the staff of Defence Colony police station reached the spot. The school was evacuated and a thorough search was made but no bombs were found. The email is also being verified by cyber team," said Delhi Police
