Shykh Seraj honoured with ‘Ambassador of Agriculture Award’

Agricultural development activist and media personality Shykh Seraj has received the honourary Ambassador of Agriculture Award at MIANZ International College in the Maldives.

After receiving the award at the 8th convocation of the college, he said the award encourages him to do more work for agricultural development.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to Maldives Abul Kalam Azad was the guest of honour at the convocation. Minister of Higher Education of the Maldives Ibrahim Hassan gave a speech virtually at the event as the chief guest.     

The eighth convocation of MIANZ International College, the largest private college in the Maldives, was held recently. Among the five thousand students of this international college, 1817 have graduated. A total of 61 courses are taught in four faculties of this college. Among them, the agricultural course received the Maldives President’s Award.

The college authorities said that they started an agriculture course and agricultural research center in the college inspired by Shykh Seraj’s agricultural programme ‘Mati O Manush’.
