Bangladesh began their preparation for the upcoming home series against India through an optional training session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.

Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal, who went to Qatar to enjoy the ongoing FIFA World Cup game of Brazil against Serbia on November 24, joined the practice session at the BCB indoor and had a long batting session.

Bangladesh Tests and ODI head coach Russell Domingo, who was having a fever since arriving in the country on November 14, guided the available cricketers who opted to do the optional training session.

He worked at length with Tamim apart from Liton Das with whom he spent the most amount of his time trying to explain different things regarding batting.

Pace bowling coach Allan Donald, spin bowling coach Rangana Herath and fielding coach Shane McDermott were also present in the practice session while batting coach Jamie Siddons was the only one missing from the team management group as he was busy preparing the Bangladesh ‘A’ team in Cox’s Bazar for the two four-day games, scheduled on November 29.

All the members of India ‘A’ team reached Cox’s Bazar apart from Cheteshwar Pujara, Umesh Yadav, and Srikar Bharat as the trio is expected to join the team later for the second four-day game in Sylhet.

India national team will arrive in Dhaka on December 1 to play three ODIs followed by a two-match Test series.
